HERA Introductory Course

Training

  • Two one-hour gym sessions each week

    • Weeks 1 – 4 focus on exercise execution, e.g. learning squat and deadlift techniques

    • Weeks 5 – 8 put the learned exercises into a programme for your gym sessions during HERA and beyond

  • Gym membership for the duration of the HERA

After 8 weeks you will have learnt how to perform exercises that will target every muscle in your body safely under load, formed a habit of regular gym training and be confident to lift weights in the gym. You’re officially part of the HERA Squad and will seamlessly transition into the ongoing HERA sessions.

Where: Private gym at 94 Dixon Street

When: Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 7-8am

Cost: $110/week

Learning

  • One online education session per week with flexibility to watch when it suits you

  • Topics covered: gym fundamentals; how to get strong; cardiovascular training; nutrition fundamentals; stress; women’s health; goal setting

After 8 weeks you will have learnt how to write your own gym programmes as well as other key considerations to integrate gym training into your life confidently beyond HERA.

Community

  • Your mini-HERA Squad – up to six gals all starting at the gym at the same time as you!

  • HERA Community – We have a Facebook group of HERA alumni where we share tips, training wins and other fun/interesting/helpful content

The community is a huge benefit of HERA. It is the most fun, supportive and welcoming group of strong women in Wellington, and you’ll always have new gym buddies and gal-pals.
